Project: Testing of Java GUI based apps
Tasks: Our client - one of the world's leading provider of astronomical observation facilities - are regularly looking for testers having a experience of testing Java desktop GUI apps

The work typically involves the preparation of data reduction pipelines for the various detectors placed at the telescope foci.



Prerequisites:
Skills (+ level of seniority): Very good knowledge of testing of Java Desktop GUIs under Linux and/or MacOS

Experience of manual testing as well as implementation of fully automated tests

Very good knowledge of testing of dynamic web applications, including Javascript-centric single page applications

Significant experience with relational databases and designing SQL queries

Basic experience in testing tools like Selenium and/or QF-Test

Good knowledge of scripting languages, preferably Groovy and/or Python

Knowledge of Unit test frameworks like Junit or TestNG

Knowledge of general purpose software testing techniques (equivalence partition, combinatorial, pair-wise, boundary conditions, etc.)

Spoken languages: EN
Other interpersonal skills: Good oral and written communication, customer oriented, experience of international projects, strong sense of software quality
